Green Card Changes and Updates

Name Change; Biographic Information Update; or Correction.
If you are applying for a renewal of a Green Card because of a name change, you must have a copy of a court order or marriage certificate to verify your new name. To replace a green card because of a change in any other biographic data, you must have copies of documentation to prove that the new information is corresponding with your persona.

USCIS error: If there is a mistake on your green card due to USCIS error, you must also include a written explanation.

In order to correct or update any information on your Green Card, you should submit a "Green Card Replacement" application. On the application forms you must enter the updated information. An updated Green Card will be mailed to you upon the receipt of the application. Keep in mind that it might take months for new Green Card to be issued.
