E-1 Treaty Trader Visa

Information: You can apply for an E-1 visa if you have opened a, by the U.S.
government, qualified company or have been offered a job as an employee
owned by citizens of your own treaty country. If you are the main owner of
a qualified business, you take full responsibility in providing sufficient
evidence, documents and completed forms. If you are applying as an
employee of a qualified
business, some parts of the application must be completed by the sponsoring
employee.
Eligibility Requirements: The application for an E-1 visa can be made at
an INS office in the United States or at any American consulate. Applications
filed in an U.S. consulate abroad, has been proven more effective
than filing in the United States. If you are in the United States on a different non-immigrant visa,
you apply for an E-1 visa.
